| 1860年萬延元年1860Manen Year One | 0歲 於1860年十月十日出生於會津河沼郡廣瀨村御池田，是鄉士武田惣吉的第二個小孩。同年三月，正好是櫻田門事件發生的時間。從幼年時期開始，便自父親那學習棒術、相撲，祖父惣右衛門處學習柔術，日後的岳父黑河內伝五郎處學習寶藏院流槍術
Age 0 Born in Aizu Domain Kawanuma County Hirose Village Oikeda at 10th October 1860, the second son of Goshi Takeda Sōkichi. Sakuradamon event occur at March in the same year. Started to study bojutsu, sumo, from his father and jujutsu from his grandfather since his early childhood |

16歲 將會津坂下町附近山道的山賊三人組打倒。因兄長惣勝逝世而緊急返鄉，保科近悳希望他能繼承家業擔任都都古別神社的宮司，但是因為討厭這個安排，因此出奔。從此之後開始真正的武者修行。再度拜訪榊原鍵吉，榊原鍵吉介紹他拜訪在大阪開設道場的鏡新明智流剣豪桃井春藏(1826~1886)
Age 16 Defeated 3 bandit near the road at Aizu Domain Sakashita cho. Received Ohno-ha Idou ryu menkyo kaiden from Shibuya Toma. Return to hometown due to elder brother sokatsu passed away, Hoshina Chikanori wanted him to inherit family job as Shinto priest, but he didn’t like this arrangement and ran away. And since started his musha-shugyo. Visit Sakakibara Kenkichi again. Sakakibara Kenkichi introduced him to visit swordman Momonoi Shinjo(1826~1886) opened Kyoshin-mechi ruy dojo in Osaka. |

17歲 西南戰爭爆發，因想加入西鄉隆盛的軍隊而前往九州。但在政府軍中元會津藩士的勸說下，取消了加入軍隊的念頭。西南戰爭後，從九州開始他的武者修行。至長崎時，因展示了手裏剣術而受到注目。在熊本遇到沖繩唐手家並與之比試並將其打倒獲勝。接著前往修行密教。後向坂井權右衛門學習本心鏡智流鍵槍術。其間以鐵扇與兩名持真槍的槍術家較量，而失去了兩顆前齒。之間，也前往了沖繩拜訪了許多的唐手家，不過這個是傳聞。
Age 17 Senan Senso, went to Kyushu and wanted to join Saigo Takamori’s army, but persuaded to give up the idea to join army by a Aizu Hanshi in government’s army. After Senan Senso, he started his musha-shugyo from Kyushu. Got people’s attention by demonstration of shuriken-jutsu in Nagasaki. Encounter a Okinawa Doteka and defeat him in Kumamoto. Then studied Honshin-Tomo(本心鏡智流) ryu from Sakai Kenemon. During the period used iron fan to fight two spearmen and lost 2 front teeth. Also went to Okinawa to visit many Doteka, but this is only hearsay. |

22歲 在福島縣二本松，與40名土工亂鬥，斬倒了8、9人，負傷後脫出(二本松事件)。後被警察拘留，因認定其為正當防衛，爾後獲得釋放。
Age 22■ Fight with 40 local workers in Fukushimaken Nihonmatsu and kill 8 or 9 workers, badly injured and got away(Nihonmatsu Jiken). Detained by the police but later released because police considered it was self defence. |
| 此後至1887年中的五年行蹤不明。有傳說是至日光東照宮的靈山神社拜訪。也有人說是向保科學習柔術。總之，這期間的行蹤是不明的。
Till 1887 his whereabouts was unknown. Some said he visited Ryozen shrine of Nikko Tosho-gu. Some said he studied jujutsu from Hoshina. Anyway, his whereabouts was unknown during the period. |

43歲 在西鄉從道推舉下，至仙台第二師團擔任指導。在仙台中心的宮城縣各地著名的武道家比試並持續獲勝。其中比較有名的比試為與北辰一刀流下江秀太郎的一戰
Age 43 Referenced by Saigo Jyuudou, went to Sendai and being instructor in Sendai Army Second Division. Contested with several famous budoka and had continuous victories in Miyagi Ken. One of them was the contest with famous Hokushin Idou Ryu Kenshi – Shimoe Hidetaro. |
